Belthangady: On the account of Gandhi Jayanthi and as the 4th anniversary of the Rajakesari organization, a Swachata programme was organised by the Rajakesari organization. If this was the case, it would be a fruitful programme marking a respect to the “Father of the Nation” and “Swachatha Abhiyan”. But it turned chaotic, when the Founding President of the Hindu Jagran Vedike Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, ferociously attacked the organizers for having MLA Harish Poonja called for the programme.

Thimarodi was invited to the programme by the Rajakesari organization.

He was found verbally attacking the doctors too. He was observed to be in anger for the delay of doctors arrival to the programme. It flared up even more when they announced that MLA Harish Poonja too would join the programme.

Rajakesari is a Hindu organization which is in support for Mahesh Shetty Thimaordi.

The programme began with the delayed arrival of a doctor.

Thimarodi, in his speech, said, “The society is not in good state. Before cleaning our locality it is very important that we clean ourselves first”.

“There should be some time sense. Waiting for someone’s arrival is not a good sign of an organization”, he added.

When his speech was on, Harish Poonja joined the programmed.

After Thimarodi finished his speech, he left the programme and stood another side. His supporters too followed him.

Later, Harish Poonja spoke addressing the gathering and inaugurated the programme. Meanwhile, he even boosted the morale and courage of doctors and staff.

President of the Rajakesari organization requested Harish Poonja for 100 beds and a uniform salary system to the staff of the Taluk Hospital. Poonja spoke with the public, doctors and the staff for around 15 minutes and left for another programme scheduled.

People gathered had sensed a verbal war between Poonja and Thimarodi, as the situation had heated up.

Surprisingly, the ferocious character and body language before the MLA arrived, disappeared in Thimarodi, once he arrived.

The reason known for Thimarodi’s behaviour is a few days back, the speech and the statements given by MLA Poonja on the incident of Saffron cloth being burnt had not appealed him.

As Poonja left the spot, Thimarodi was back in form, once again verbally attacking the doctors and the organizers.

Standing on the steps of the hospital, Thimarodi at the top of his voice said, “I want to know, who were the ones who invited the MLA to this programme. I’ll not leave the place until it is confirmed to me”.

“After knowing that we are not in good terms, you have invited him, which is unethical. I don’t care if he is an MLA or anybody……”, he added as his hate and anger speech continued for half-an-hour. He polluted the ambience of the hospital through his words.

As the Rajakesari organization began the cleaning work as the part of “Swachh Bharat”, the temper of Thimarodi cooled down. His act remembered one of the former MLA of the same constituency.

Curiosity developed among the people so as to observing the behaviour of Mahesh Shetty Thimarodi, as he had raged before the MLA arrived and stepped aside silently after his arrival.

On the birth anniversary of “Preacher of Ahimsa”, such an act has disheartened the commoners.
