Tension over FB comment on Prophet : Prohibitory orders in Kasargod

Kasargod :  Following minor clashes and several incidents of stoning reported from Kumble area on July 21, Sunday, the police have imposed prohibitory orders under Section 144 in Kasargod and Hosadurga taluks  for a period of one week.One person named Arun Kumar (27) has also been arrested in connection with the case.

On July 20,  Saturday there were protests in Kumble following alleged derogatory remarks against Prophet Mohammad in the social networking site Facebook. The protestors had demanded immediate arrest of the culprits who were disturbing peace. There have been reports of stoning of a temple at Kumble and three shops in Kasargod. Even the Kasargod-Mayippady-Seetangoli bus stopped  services  in the wake of tension. It is learnt, even the Muhimmat Community Hall has been stoned.

Police have also banned movement of two-wheelers from 6 pm to 6 am for one week.
