There is a shortage of tender coconut and its price has increased to Rs 60. Within an hour or two, the small amount of stock that vendors receive in the early morning is depleted. Approximately 11 a.m. is when sellers finish up their day’s work because there are no more sensitive coconuts to sell.
This price rise is exceptionally substantial. Days that are not summertime usually see rates between Rs 25 and Rs 30. Tender coconuts are currently priced between Rs 50 and Rs 55 in Mangaluru, and Rs 60 in Kundapur and Udupi.
Additionally, dealers are allegedly keeping a profit margin of Rs 20 per tender coconut, according to allegations. As a result, sugarcane juice is becoming increasingly popular among customers as a substitute.
