Mangalore : The technological innovations in the modern day world has thrown up a host of opportunities before the younger generation to brighten up their future, said R Basil, Chairman of Lily White Health Consortium, Bangalore.
He was speaking as a chief guest at the tenth annual day celebrations of St Joseph Engineering College, Vamanjoor in the outskirts of the city on March 19, Tuesday. Basil further called upon the younger generation to make best use of the opportunities that come their way. A positive change brought about in one individual can contribute to a positive change in the society, he said.
Every student should have a vision about his future and should be motivated to realize his vision. It is dreams that will help an individual accomplish his goals. At the same time he made it a point to the youngsters that no success can be achieved without toil.
N Prakash, DK Deputy Commissioner, who was present as a chief guest, hailed the contributions of DK as an educational hub.
Fr Aloysius Paul DSouza, Bishop of Mangalore, presided over the function. He urged the youth to take the step forward in life without getting unduly influenced by evil forces.
Dr Vincent Crasta, Fr JB Saldanha, Dr Rio DSouza, Fr Rohith DCosta, Fr Ajith Menezes, Dr Joseph Gonsalves and others were present.
Meritorious students were awarded on the occasion.
