Teachers should not be pressurized, U T Khader

Bantwal: “In today’s world Teachers face one problem or another. It is very difficult for them as they have to manage both the educational process and the teaching. It has also prevented them from being functional and creative. Teaching profession is similar to that of monks who desert everything in their life, but today’s society looks at the teachers suspiciously. This should be changed. Their burden should be reduced, in this regard state govt is planning some programmes”, said B Ramanatha Rai.

He was addressing the gathering being a chief guest at teachers day celebration here at Shree Dharmasthala Manjunatha Swamy Kalyana Mantapa organised by Bantwal taluk teachers day celebration committee and Rotary club.

“When teachers are pressure-free then only the environment of education will be created in the society. So parents, officials and the peoples representatives should not pressurize them,” said Health minister U T Khader. “Health facilities given to the govt teachers will be extended also to aided schools and private school teachers. We will discuss with Education minister and higher officials in this regard. ” he said.

Taluk Panchayath president Yashwanth Deraje inaugurated the programme. District panchayat members Tumbe Prakash Shetty, M S Mohammad, Mamatha Gatty, Nalini Shetty, Taluk Panchayat vice president Vilasini Sarapady, Taluk panchayath members Ananada Shambhoor, Dinesh Amtoor, Kamalakshi, Rotary club president Prakash Karanth, Sanjeev Poojary, Taluk panchayath programme officer Cyprian Miranda, High school assistant teachers association president Joel, Primary school teachers association president Francis D’sa, Physical education teachers association president Radhakrishna Adyanthaya were president.

Retired teachers were felicitated on the occasion. Puttur Kasapa President Dr Varadaraja Chandragiri rendered a special speech on teachers day.

In the programme retired teachers, teachers recognized at state and district level last year were felicitated by the guests.

Teachers presented a cultural programme before the felicitation programme.
