Moodbidri: A Tata Indica car was completely burnt here at Mastikatte-Vidyagiri road in Moodbidri Municipal limits on September 13.

The car belongs to Narayana a resident of Kallamundkori.

The incident took place when Narayana was returning home after dropping his wife at her mother’s house.

Near Mastikatte-Vidyagiri road, he suddenly sensed a burnt smell in the car. He stopped the car and saw fire when he opened the bonnet.

The fire soon spread to the front seat and the whole car caught fire. He tried to extinguish the fire but in vain. Even the locals and fire service tried to bring the fire under control. But by that time the car was burnt to ashes.

Moodbidri police came to the spot to investigate.
