Manjeshwar: P Pramod sub-inspector of Manjeshwar police station and his team, arrested two persons for allegedly transporting liquor worth a lakh in a rickshaw here on September 12.

The arrested are Sathish(29), a resident of Durgipalla in Manjeshwar and Rajesh(30) from Majibail.

They were arrested on Friday morning at Posott in Manjeshwar. The incident to came to light when police stopped a rickshaw heading from Talapady at 8am and while inspecting alcohol was found.

615 bottles and 300 packets of cheap liquor were seized. It is learnt that it was brought from Karnataka.

The arrested were produced before the court and police are further investigating the matter.
