Tablighi attendee from Uppinangady recovers, gets discharged

Mangaluru: A 38-year-old man from Uppinangady taluk, who had contracted COVID-19, was discharged from the Wenlock Hospital on May 6 after making a full recovery.

The man had been to New Delhi to attend the Tablighi Jamaat event in March. He tested positive for Covid-19 after he was quarantined at the Wenlock Hospital. After he tested positive for the virus, his entire family was also quarantined and a few days later, his wife also tested positive for Covid-19.

While the man was discharged today, his wife remains at the Wenlock Hospital as she is still receiving treatment.

With this latest case, a total of 13 persons have been discharged from the Wenlock hospital after recovering from the disease. As many as three persons succumbed to the disease and 12 are still receiving treatment at the hospital.
