SYS protests against Wakf Board ruling

Mangalore:The Sunni Yuvajana Sangha and Federation Of DK District Muslim Associations organised a protest in front of the DC office in Mangalore on October 31, Thursday  condemning the Karnataka Wakf Board  for the stay order  to the offering of the Friday prayers (Juma Namaz) at the mosque near the famous Ullal Darga.

The protestors described the Wakf Board  stay as against the Islamic law Shariah and said   they are strongly against such violation of Islamic law. It may be recalled here that the Wakf Board in its stay order had declared offering of Friday prayers at the new mosque as ‘haram.’

K I Abdul Khader Kukkila, Muslim leader and former mayor K Ashraf addressed the protestors.  They also flayed health minister UT Khader for his stance on the controversy.

Sayed Zanul Abidin Tangal, Farook Ullal, Mustafa Ullal, Mohammad Faizi, N A Nellikunnu, MLA of Kasargod, Shaikuna M A Kasim and several others participated in the protest.

As already reported, recently clashes were reported from near the mosque following Friday prayers and police had to resort to lathi charge. Several were also injured in the incident.
