Syndicate Bank to hold customer outreach programme at Town Hall on Oct 5, 6

Mangaluru: Syndicate Bank, along with other public sector banks, is hosting a customer outreach initiative at Town Hall on October 5 and 6. This programme is being initiated with the intention of connecting with the masses for a deeper spread and penetration of banking products and services.

All public and private sector banks operating in the district will be participating in the programme to reach out their customers and the general public. Syndicate Bank General Manager Sairam Hegde told presspersons here on Thursday, October 3, that all the banks will assemble under one roof to offer a wide spectrum of financial and non-financial services including opening of savings accounts, extending financial assistance, coverage of customers under various financial inclusion schemes and encouraging customers to move to digital banking products.

Hegde also informed that the outreach programme will highlight and enable customers avail financial inclusion schemes like Prime Minister Jan-Dhan Yojana (PMJDY), social security schemes like Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana (PMSB), Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana (PMJJBY) and Atal Pension Yojana (APY). Internet and mobile banking, digital payments particularly the BHIM app, will be highlighted in the programme for faster pace of digitised banking. All participating financial institutions will be displaying various innovative products offered by them.

Additionally, there will be a provision for savings bank opening as well as Aadhaar and mobile seeding facility. For boosting entrepreneurship, access to details about MUDRA and Stand UP India success stories will also be on display. Visitors will also have the facility of Aadhaar enrolment and updation of Aadhaar details with assistance from the UIDAI, he informed.
