Mangalore : A police team led by Kavitha BT, ACP (Central) conducted a surprise raid on the District Prison here on October 2, Wednesday. The  raiding team however did not find any forbidden good excluding a cigarette lighter in the shape of a toy gun.

Police sources said the raid was  conducted at the instructions  of Mangalore Police Commissioner Manish Kharbikar.  The Commissioner said the raid was part of a routine check.

Police officials from Bunder and Barke stations were in the raiding team.
