Uppinangady : A gas tanker has overturned at Uppinangady on the National Highway 48 on October 3, Thursday morning.   The fire tender vehicles have rushed to the  spot  in the wake of possibility of a gas leakage. It has been learnt that the tanker heading towards Bangalore from Mangalore overturned due to the negligence of its driver.

Here it is worth recalling that a gas tanker that overturned and exploded  near Perne in Uppinangady a few months back had claimed over ten  lives. Despite the authorities stating that remedial measures are being undertaken to avert mishaps, the tanker drivers continue to  remain negligent.
