Students to boycott classes in protest against Yettinahole project

Mangalore :In the wake of the upcoming Yettinahole project students in and around the city have decided to protest the potentially harmful plan. A protest rally against the proposed project will be held on February 22 Saturday and all the colleges will remain closed. The protest is being supported by Karavali Jeevanadi Netravati Samrakshana Samiti and various other organizations.

Suratkal block Congress president Vijay Kumar Shetty in his address said ” More and more youth should come forward and take part in this movement. The protest should not be stopped here but should be continued until the goal is reached. The MLAs from our district have always supported us in the protest. We request everyone to join the protest and pressurize the Government to drop the project “,he said.

College presidents of different parts who organized the meeting decided an all-college bandh on Saturday, February 22. The protest march will begin at 10 am from Jyothi circle to DC office.
