Udupi :Students are more concerned about their academic study which ultimately end up in doctors or engineers. They should come up with Tulu doctorate degree. Students should show interest in our culture and language said writer Bananje Babu Amin.

He was speaking after the inauguration of “Tulunada vybhava – 2014” at MGM College, Udupi organised by Kumaravyasa Tulu cultural folk college  and Mangalore University on Thursday, March 6.

In the various cultural competition, Santhekatte SNS College won first prize, Udupi PPC second and Karkala Bhuvanendra collage third price respectively. The progamme got high attention because for the first time Tulu based inter college cultural progamme was organised.

Today we have forgotten about the impact of Tulu culture. Mangalore and Udupi is the home of the folk culture of Tulu Nadu . It is having base prior to Vaidikas , Konkani , Muslims and Christians.  The respect for the elders  and the family values are missing.

Dr. Ashok researcher regional folk arts resource center, released ‘nalpa kathekulu’ onji short story book on the occasion.
