Moodbidri: A person of Kerala origin is accused of encroaching upon state-owned land at Kemaru –Manyottu that comes under the limits of Paladka gram panchayat to develop rubber plantations alleged the local villagers.
We were fetching tree branches from the state-owned land in order to lay in the cow-pen during the monsoon. It is owing to the encroachment of land by a person of Kerala origin, we are restrained of organic farming.The village council had to survey the land and has to restore normalcy at the earliest, said the local villager Narayan Shettigar.
A certain Oju of Kerala had bought 15.14 acres of plot from a private individual at Kemaru – Manyottu about a year ago. Meanwhile, he has encroached upon the state-owned that lies nearby to his plot and turned into rubber plantation.Despite the complaints are lodged with Deputy Commissioner, forest officer, Tahsildar and police; its all in vain, alleged the locals.
