Ujire : An exhibition is a treasure of knowledge which educates and enlightens the people on the history, art and culture of the land, said Fr James D’Souza, Parish Priest of Holy Redeemer Church, Belthangady.
He was speaking after inaugurating a state level exhibition organised at Dharmasthala on November 28, Thursday as part of the Laksha Deepotsava celebrations. Fr D’Souza further said such exhibitions go a long way in creating an awareness among the present generation on the rural folk arts, culture, cottage industries and traditional methods of farming which are fast vanishing.
Dr D Veerendra Heggade, Dharmadhikari of Dharmasthala who presided over the function, said the exhibition has stalls of various government departments. Along with a pilgrim tour, the fair also helps in enriching knowledge, he said.
Prof S Prabhaker, K Harish Kumar, Belthangady Block Congress President, E Sunder Gowda of Ujire and others were present.
Truth will be out soon : Heggade exudes confidence
“ My thinking power has reduced since the past one and a half months. But truth will always triumph. It will be out within the next few days thereby putting an end to all confusion and doubts. I have not shielded any accused and I do not have any sense of guilt. Silence is my answer to everything, I have the blessings and support of Sri Manjunatha Swami, Annappa Swami and Dharma Devathes of Dharmasthala,” said Dr D Veerendra Heggade of Dharmasthala.
Heggade was speaking at a function held at Amrithavarshini Auditorium on November 28, Thursday after thousands of people voluntarily took part in a jatha from Ujire Janardhana Swami Temple to Dharmasthala by chanting hymns of Lord.
Expressing his regret over the malicious propaganda and false rumors regarding the service activities of Dharmasthala, he said just like my family members thousands of devotees too are hurt and have shed tears. The bundle of lies has created doubts and suspicion. But I do not have suspicion on anyone nor have I hated anyone,” he said. “I have left everything to Sri Manjunatha Swami who will take an appropriate decision,” Dr Heggade further said.
