Mangaluru: The St. Aloysius College Alumni reunion celebrations organised by St. Aloysius College Alumni Association (SACAA) unfolded on a grand note at the St. Aloysius High School premises on January 12. The event was also celebrated as a part of the college’s foundation day.
Over 600 alumni, members of staff and management participated along with their families. Soon after welcoming the gathering and guests of the event, there was music, entertainment and games, followed by dinner.
The College Rector Fr. Dionysius Vaz spoke to the audience about his time in the college as a student. College Principal and Director of SACAA, Fr. Swebert D’Silva, Convenor Prof. Edmund Frank and SACAA President Archibald Menezes were also present on the occasion.
The members of the band which played had some of the all-time favourite Hindi and English numbers as the audience grooved and tapped their feet to the rhythm. Heera Pinto, an alumnus of the college conducted the event as the Master of Ceremonies.
St. Aloysius alumni came in from far off countries like United States of America, Britain and United Arab Emirates to participate in this reunion programme. Several prizes were distributed by the organisers as some among the audience won in the respective games that they were good at.
Heera conducted umpteen number of games some of which were never heard of before, to keep the alumni entertained. The alumni present there were enjoying every bit of the get-together.
