St Agnes College observes Women’s Day

Mangalore : The St Agnes College along with Women’s Cell observed the International Women’s Day, at the College auditorium on Saturday March 8.

Prior to the stage programme, the students from High School and the college, held a silent march from the college campus to Balmatta which concluded back at the College premises.

A programme was also organized to felicitate prominent women in the society.  In her presidential address, Niveditha Mirajkar, member of Toastmasters Club said that education must be promoted as it changes a human being’s attitude. Education implements change however culture and social norms are also driving forces. On the other hand religion has various interpretations but it is important to have your own personal interpretation, she added.

Principal Dr Sr Prem D’Souza delivered the presidential address. Student President Anisha Maria Fernandes, Vice President Nikita Noronha, Namita Jane and Ankita Shetty were felicitated on the occasion.

Staff co-ordinator, St Agnes College delivered the welcome speech. Ziyana, Student Co-ordinator compered the programme.  Vice President Alumnae Edel Gonsalves delivered the vote of thanks.
