Moodbidri :Preparations are afoot for the grand inaugural of the four day Alva’s Vishwa Nudisiri Virasat 2013 on December 19. There will be a total of nine stages where literary and cultural programmes will be held.
Grand procession: A grand procession depicting the folk and cultural glory of the land will herald the spectacular event. Presently, arrangements are underway to add that special touch to the procession this time. The procession which will commence from Chowta Palace in Moodbidri will be inaugurated by eminent folk artiste Nadoja Sukri Bomma Gowda.
Another special feature of this procession is that there will be no tableaux while due emphasis will be laid on highlighting folk traditions.
The procession will pass through Venkatramana Temple, Hanuman Temple and bus stand road to reach Vidyagiri. Over 5000 folk artistes belonging to over 110 troupes are expected take part in the procession which will also be participated by President of Nudisiri 2013 and the previous Nudisiri Virasats, office bearers and dignitaries.
The procession will feature 100 Dollu Kunitha artistes, 70 Koraga Dollu artistes, 40 Veerabhadra kunitha artistes, 70 artistes of Kalladka Ramesh doll troupe, 30 Aati Kalanjas, 50 Dudi Kunitha artistes apart from Banjara dancers, Somana Kunitha, Huli Vesha, Theyyam, Kathakkali, Women’s Chende troupe of Kerala, a special threatre walk of artistes donning over 200 roles of historical, social and mythological sequences. A 500 member team holding the national tri colour etc will also be part of the procession. A total of 7000 people including artistes will participate in the procession.
