Mangaluru: The Dakshina Kannada district police on Saturday November 29 issued first aid kits to 80 police vehicles operational under its fleet here.

The district police has total of 156-vehicles, consequently the kits will be placed in all the vehicles that are issued to police stations as well as supervisory officers.
Superintendent of Police S D Sharanappa distributed these kits and said that training in first aid will be given to all police officials.
The programme has also instigated to refill the exhausted first aid kits in the district police vehicles, which is commendable the SP added.
While suggesting that every four-wheeler should compulsorily carry a first aid kit to meet any exigency, Sharanappa also exhorted motorists to learn basics of first aid from nearby hospitals.
People must overcome their fears of summoning an ambulance or coming to the aid of an accident victim, Sharanappa advised as the event concluded.
