Bangalore:The CID  report in the Sowjanya rape and murder case  is likely to be submitted in a weeks time, informed State Home Minister KJ George.

Participating in the inaugural of the new building of HSR Layout police station on October 29, Tuesday, the  Minister  said the government  had ensured that the investigation into the case speeded up and had also changed the investigation officer as requested.

Continuing, he said a decision on whether to entrust the case to the CBI can be taken only after  the CID submits its report.

Already protests are being held in various parts of the state demanding justice in the case and also a CBI probe. Various organizations have also been arguing that only a CBI probe would ensure justice as CID was likely to be influenced by some ‘powerful forces’ which are behind the case.

State Urban Development Minister Vinay Kumar Sorake who also spoke said the truth should come out. He at the same time objected to the allegations hurled against the Dharmadhikari in the case even as probe is underway.
