Moodbidri: A skeleton was found in the woods at Kellaputtige that comes under the limits of Daregudde gram panchayat here on Wednesday August 21, which was identified of a married person who reported missing in Nellikar three months ago.

The locals were aware of the skeleton about 15 days ago, but did not report out of fear.  Meanwhile, a local informed Daregudde gram panchayat president Subaschandra Chowta who in turn conveyed the message to the police.

Forty-five-year-old Sudhakar Kundar was a resident of Valpady village working as ice cream salesman. He was reported to be missing from his sister-in-laws house in Nellikar on May 23. A complaint was lodged in Karkal police station on May 31.

The mystery shrouds over the death of Sudhakar Kundar, because it raises the doubt whether it was a murder or suicide. A few bottles of poison, clothes and a knife also found besides the skeleton.  If at all he had committed suicide, his body might have been found in Valpady or in Nellikar, but its found in Kellaputtige that proves criminal characters involved in this case.

Moodbidri police registered a case in this regard and investigations are under way.
