Karkala: The sensational Bhasker Shetty murder case is not making buzz anymore on media, but it is still fresh in the minds of the people. Evidently, when some skeletal remains were retrieved from a pond at Mujalotti in Belman taluk on Wednesday, people, without any second thought linked it to Hotelier Bhasker Shetty, who was reportedly charred to death by his wife, son and an astrologer from Nandalike area.

Within no time a huge crowd gathered near the spot to witness the skeletal remains, which, without any tests or reports was billed off as that of Bhasker Shetty.

The logic behind people’s suspicion is that Niranjan Bhat, the astrologer accused in the case used to frequent this pond as he was working as priest in a nearby temple. Paying heed to the suspicion of the locals, police and forensic team visited the spot and collected the samples.Only the forensic reports will prove the locals right or wrong.
