Puttur: The Chief Judicial Magistrate, Puttur has issued summons to Diwakar Shastry, brother of Shyama Shastry, charging the prior of unintentional murder, conspiracy and destroying evidences.

Shyama Shastry of Badekkila-Kedila village of Puttur had reportedly shot himself to death in 2014 after the sexual harassment case against Raghaveshwara Swamiji was filed by his older brother Diwakar Shastry and his family.

However, the police who started investigations raised apprehensions and suspected that it could be case of murder and not suicide.

Later,  Govind Shastry, a close relative of Shyama Shatry moved court stating that Diwakar Shastry had a role to play in the death of Shyama Shastry.

On Monday, the judge issued summons in connection to the case.
