Garment factory workers’ stir turns violent

Bengaluru: Clashes  broke out between labourers and owners of garment factories over disapproval over newly introduced provident fund (PF) policy, at Bommanahalli.

Police forces were pressed into action to snub the voice of labourers on Monday.

Five police men and hundreds of workers were injured in the chaos.

The garments’ workers were protesting against the newly introduced PF policy which reduces their monthly income.

It is said that police resumed lathi charge without any provocation from workers which led to stone pelting on police force in turn.
