Bantwal: A shop was gutted in a fire mishap at Bhandarybettu in Bantwal on Friday, June 17.

The shop belonged to one Prakash. It is assumed that short-circuit might be the cause behind the fire. Two freezers, one refrigerator and an oven were destroyed in the incident. The loss is estimated to be Rs 5 lakh.

Village Accountant Basavaraj Sanadri and local municipality member Jagadeesh Kundar visited the spot.

A case has been registered at the Bantwal town police station.
