Bantwal:The Bombay Fashion Bazaar which was operating at the Poonja Maidan at BC Road Kaikamba  since the past few months has been destroyed in a fire  in the wee hours of Wednesday. The loss has been estimated at nearly Rs 20 lakhs.

The owners of the shop have suspected this to be a handiwork of miscreants. All clothes,  household articles, etc have  been destroyed in the fire.  Some employees who were sleeping inside the shop saw the fire at around 1.30 am and had rushed out. It is said they saw two strangers too running away from the place. As there were no electricity cables close by the shop, the chances of a  short circuit have been ruled  out.  The suspicion is that some miscreants might have  poured petrol and set the shop on fire. The shop was totally gutted by the time the fire service personnel arrived. Even a mini lorry stationed nearby was damaged. Bilal and Saleem were running this outlet since the past seven months. 

A case has been registered in Bantwal police station.
