Mangaluru: Dakshina Kannada district in-charge minister B. Ramanath Rai on Tuesday said that the Shiradi Ghat stretch – which primarily connects Bengaluru-Mangaluru National Highway – will be closed for repairs from Friday, January 2.

The decision was taken after holding discussions with stake holders including political leaders and legislators. Hence, alternative routes have been arranged, the minister added.
According to the decision, KSRTC red buses and light vehicles will take Charmadi Ghat road and the luxury buses will take Madikeri-Mysore route. The tankers, lorry and heavy vehicles will use Honnavar-Bengaluru route.
