Mangaluru: MLA and former minister U T Khader has urged Sasikanth Senthil, who resigned from the post of Deputy Commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, to withdraw his resignation letter claiming that the country needs his service.

Addressing the reporters here on Saturday, September 7 Khader said, “if Senthil is facing issues and he feels that there is no conducive working atmosphere then he can go on long leave. The civil servants can take leave up-to five years,” he said adding that tendering resignation by IAS or IPS officers all of a sudden is not a good trend.

Khader also informed that government should bring a healthy working atmosphere for IAS and IPS officers.”There is an allegation against the union government of forcibly sending IAS officers on leave for not entertaining their demands. How can a honest officer work under such a situation?”, he questioned.

Meanwhile, Khader congratulated the scientists of ISRO for their honest efforts on Chandrayan 2. “Though India’s attempt to create a history by becoming the first nation to land close to the south pole of the Moon has turned to despair after Chandrayan II’s lander ‘Vikram’ lost communication with the ground stations on Saturday just ahead of the soft landing, scientists should not be discouraged. I hope we will succeed in the same effort in the near future. However, I suspect the involvement of Russia as Russia is always against the development of India. An investigation should be conducted in this regard”, he stressed.
