Mangalore: Senior criminal lawyer Purushottam Poojary  passed away at his residence here  on Tuesday May 6  morning.

The 93 year old advocate was ailing since the past few days. Family sources said he collapsed due to high blood sugar levels and breathed his last during the early hours of the morning.

Purushottam Poojary was a well-known criminal lawyer of the city. He was one of the senior most advocates of Mangalore and  had taken up the Manipal gang rape and other cases.

Poojary is survived by his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandson.

It is learnt that his body will be kept for Public viewing as he had many associates, at a hall, that is yet to be decided.
