Bangalore : The KSRTC is learnt to have incurred losses to the tune of several crores of rupees following suspension of bus services to Andhra Pradesh. It may be recalled here that Seemandhra region of Andhra Pradesh is in the boil owing to the Centre’s approval to create Telangana state.
The KSRTC bus services to Andhra Pradesh have come to a total halt and the loss incurred per day is estimated at Rs 1.5 crores. All KSRTC buses from Bangalore to Tirupathi, Hyderabad, Ananthapura, Karnool, Kadapa, Vijayawada, Secunderabad, MAntraya and other districts have been canceled.
KSRTC officials said the bus services would be resumed only after the situation improves.
Even KSRTC buses heading towards Andhra Pradesh from border districts of Raichur, Bidar, Gulbarga and Bellary too have been cancelled. Many tourists from the state who are in Tirupathi are now left in the lurch following the cancellation of bus services.
