Section 144 imposed in Dakshina Kannada to control Covid surge

Mangaluru: As the second wave of Coronavirus is spreading, Dakshina Kannada district deputy commissioner Dr. Rajendra K V has imposed Section 144 of the CRPC in view of rising Covid 19 cases in the district on Tuesday, March 30.

From March 29 until further notice, the ban will be in force. During the ban, he has stated that Yugadi, Holi, Shab E Barat, Good Friday, and other festivals or gatherings should not be held in public places, parks, gardens, markets, or religious areas.

The virus could spread at places where people gather, such as fairs, processions, conferences, festivals, and religious services.

As a result, beginning March 29, all such public programs will be prohibited. The deputy commissioner has stated that more than five people should not gather in groups.
