Mangaluru: Fifty percent of agriculture loan of the deceased farmers have been waived off by the SCDCC bank and a sum of Rs 1,25,14,000 was dispersed as relief to family members of 459 deceased farmers.

Addressing the gathering, SCDCC President Dr. M N Rajendra Kumar said that most of the co-operative banks in Dakshina Kannada are making profits because there is no politics in the management.
“All co-operative banks are united and they work as a team. Most of the private banks do not follow the NABARD and central government norms but we follow each and every norm which they implement,” Kumar proclaimed.
Meanwhile, District in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai said that the main reason behind introducing co-operative banks is to relieve people from the money lenders and financial institutions which used to charge heavy interest.
“People should support local co-operative banks,” said Rai.
NABARD district development manager Prasad Rao, Bank Assistant Manager Salim B K among others were present.
