Mangaluru: The sixth graduation day for the students of the Department of Business Administration, Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management, was held today, January 23, 2016.
110 students took an oath and received their graduation certificates from the Chief Guest. Prahlad Chaudhary , HR Operations Head at JSW Steel Ltd. was the chief guest of the programme.
Parents and relatives of the students were present to witness the event.
Speaking to the graduates Prahlad said that he was delighted to be a part of the graduation day as it brought back memories of his graduation. He stimulated the students to do “Self Searching” that will enable them to go deeper into one’s own strengths, weaknesses and work on improving from time to time. He mentioned that – one should not impose thinking on others but give them a liberty to think themselves. He also emphasized that individuals should speak in the language that never hurts others. He enlightened the students and welcomed them to the world of challenges in HR, Finance and Marketing roles.
He concluded with an enlightening quote of Swami Vivekananda – “Take risk in life, if you win you will lead and if you lose you will guide”
Sahyadri College of Engineering and Management Principal Dr. Umesh M Bhushi, in his presidential remarks said that work should be a natural process just like breathing. One should not get tired or should not be busy. He told the graduates to give Sahyadri opportunities to celebrate their success and urged them to excel in their areas of expertise.
Dr. Vishal Samartha, Chief Academic Co-ordinator, lead the oath taking ceremony. In her vote of thanks, she congratulated the graduates and said that the institute was proud of their achievements.
Students shared their experiences of the wonderful period they spent in the Campus and expressed their gratitude to their alma mater.
