Mangaluru: The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) staged a massive protest and demanded immediate intervention of the union government in the Sabarimala temple issue and demanded President’s Rule in Kerala state.

VHP Mangaluru Division Secretary Sharan Pumpwell, addressing the protesters on Thursday, January 3, said, “As the Kerala government has allowed women to enter the Sabarimala temple, its age-old traditions have been violated. Hence, the government by Pinarayi Vijayan must be suspended and President’s Rule imposed in Kerala.”

“The religious sentiments of the Hindus are being hurt by insulting the gods and goddesses in the recent years. There are several instances wherein bad comments are being uploaded on the social media on Goddess Kateel Durgaparameshwari, Deyi Baidethi, Lord Sri Rama among others. Now, Sabarimala temple issue has hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. It is nothing but a hidden conspiracy of those who hate Hindus and their beliefs”, Sharan said.

Mangaluru North MLA Dr. Bharath Shetty, Zilla Panchayat Vice President Kasturi Panja, former MLC Monappa Bhandary and Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader Kishore Kumar among others were present.
