Mangalore: A cycle rally promoted by Rx Life with an urge to create a social awakening was held in the city on December 8, Sunday. The event was held with support from Youth Hostels Association of India, Team Mangalore, Mangalore City Police, RTO and other organisations.There were more than 1800 cyclists in the rally.
The objective of the rally was to build up the values of fitness among the children, youth as well as the senior citizens of the city. The youngest in the rally was a 6-year-old wherein among the senior citizens an 83-year-old person took part.
Another purpose was to politely remind the district administration to cater to the requirements of cyclists and to protect their interests.
The cycle rally was inaugurated at 6.30 am by K Ullas Kamath, Director of Jyothi Laboratories along with Sushant, Regional Manager of Ti cycles in India. The rally commenced from Lady Hill and concluded at Bharat Mall.
To encourage participation a lucky dip was organized and the winners were awarded BSA Hercules cycles.
Vijay Sharma, Vice-President Shriram Chits ltd; Mukund Kamath of Ideal Ice cream group; Arun Kumar, Area Sales Manager of Ti cycles; BS Dinakar, Regional Manager of Shriram Chits ltd and others were present on the occasion.
