Rural areas to get quality broadband internet services: Milind Deora
Mulki : Milind Deora, Union Minister of State for IT, Communication and Shipping has said that the Union Government intends to extend the benefits of IT even to the rural areas by ensuring that all villages got high quality broadband internet services.
The Minister was speaking to media men after offering prayers to the Goddess at the Sri Durgaparameshwari Temple at Bappanadu in Mulki on September 10, Tuesday. Milind Deora also stated that the government was keen on developing the New Mangalore Port in order to facilitate more ships. The Minister further said the Aadhaar card process will also be taken up in post offices.
Abhayachandra Jain, State Minister for Youth Services and Fisheries who accompanied the Union Minister during his visit made an appeal to set up a postal circle office in Mangalore.
On this occasion, Milind Deora was felicitated on behalf of the Temple. He was accompanied by his wife and father-in-law Manmohan Shetty of Adlabs.
Several prominent local citizens including Mulki Panchayat President Shashikanth Shetty, Vice President Yogish Kotian and others were present.
