Mangalore :District in-charge Minister B Ramanatha Rai has said some prominent roads in the district will be developed with the help of the Rs 42 crore sanctioned for the purpose by the state government. The government received the grant from the Central Road Fund of the Union Ministry of Surface Transport, Rai said.
He was addressing an interactive meeting with industrialists organised by the Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and industry (FKCCI), Bangalore and Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) at the Chamber meeting hall on November 9, Saturday.
The Minister also informed that a high level panel has been formed to check degradation of environment. Industrialists must consider environment protection as their responsibility, he added.
State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader, in his address said the Tokkottu-Mudipu road will be widened at a cost of Rs 7.5 crore. He also informed that super specialty centre with 350 additional beds will be set up Government Wenlock Hospital.
R Shivakumar, President of FKCCI, Tallam R Dwarakanath, chairman, district co-ordination committee, FKCCI, Mohammad Ameen, KCCI President and others were present.
