Mangalore: An elderly woman, who was employed at a cashew factory died in a tragic incident at Carmika Colony, Shaktinagar here on Tuesday November 12 evening as she was robbed.
It is learnt that the victim Bhavani (68) would daily travel from a lane that went through Mahakali area, on the fateful day the robbers looted her jewellery, it is also understood that she was only wearing a pair of gold earning and a gold chain.
As told by her family members, Bhavani would regularly reach home at 6.30 pm from her work place but on that day she did not reach on time her son Suresh was vexed.
Thus, Suresh along with his son Danush and their neighbor Padmanadu went searching for her, although initially they could not find her. After a vigorous search they managed to find her fallen on the roadside.
The robbers had pushed her wherein she sustained grave injuries due to which after reaching the hospital she succumbed into her wounds.
A case has been registered in Mangalore rural police station.
