Bantwal :  A bike rider was killed and two others sustained serious injuries in a collision between an autorickshaw and a bike  at the Ukkuda Kepu curve near Vittal on February 16, Sunday afternoon.

The deceased bike rider is Sujith Kumar (20),  son of Sadashiva Naika of Manimumda near Adyanadka. The pillion riders Dinesh Kumar (24) and Harish (24) who too hail from the same village, have been admitted to a private hospital in Puttur.

The mishap occurred when the youngsters were heading towards Adyanadka from Vittal in the bike.  The autorickshaw driven by Narayana of Chandalike was proceeding towards Vittal from Punacha when the two vehicles collided at a place  where three roads converge. All the three youth on the bike fell on the road and Sujith died while being taken to hospital.

The condition of the two other injured is said to be critical.  Vittal police have registered a case.
