Ullal: A group of five men allegedly attempted to murder a youth from Ullal here on Monday, April 25.

Ibrahim Nasfan(24) is the targeted youth.

It is learnt that the murder attempt is a revenge against the recent murder of fisherman Raju Kotian.

The incident took place when the youth was leaving for work on his bike. A group of five men waylaid him near Ullal Shri Veerabhadra temple and attacked him with lethal weapon. Due to the attack he has lost one of his fingers and sustained injuries on waist and legs.

Police have been patrolling the area as it is a highly sensitive region. The attackers escaped after police rushed to the spot, it is learnt.

Nasfan was immediately shifted to a hospital in Mangaluru by his brother Naufal and Muzambil along with the police.

It may be recalled that on April 12, fisherman Raju Kotian was murdered near Ullal. The police are suspecting that this might be the revenge against the killing of Raju. Police have launched a manhunt to nab the attackers.

Ullal police have registered  a case in this regard.
