Residents of 2 wards in Ullal to boycott LS polls

Mangalore : Residents of Ward 2 and 5 of Ullal who met at Ullal Kody on March 23, Sunday have  decided to boycott the Lok Sabha elections in protest against the  arrest of innocents from the ward in connection with the recent untoward incidents reported from Ullal.

Mohammad Ashraf, President of Kody Mosque who addressed the meeting, said the recent incidents have also created differences between the Mogaveera and Muslim community which earlier lived harmoniously in the region. Innocent people from both communities have been arrested for the folly of some trouble mongers responsible for the untoward incidents, he alleged.

Participants also alleged that police had barged into houses,  misbehaved wit h women and arrested innocents and pushed them behind bars in Bellary.

Abdullatif,  Secretary of the Masjid, Mohammad Haji, former president, Rafique, UK Mohammad, Basheer, Darga Committee Members and several others attended the meeting.
