Mangaluru: The business establishments in Mangaluru City Corporation limits will have to renew their licenses before June 30.

Addressing a news conference on Thursday, Standing Committee for Health President Kavitha Sanil said that totally 29100 traders had got the trade license under MCC limits, but during this fiscal year only 19561 traders have renewed their license so far.
“Till now we have collected Rs 1.88 crore, but still 8799 traders have to apply for the renewal of the trade license. Which means Rs 1.22 crore is yet to be collected,” she said.
“A squad which has officials from revenue department and health department has been formed to deal with this matter. If the traders do not renewed their license before June 30 then strict action will be taken against them,” she warned.
Take precautions
Commenting on Dengue and Malaria she said that people should take precautionary measures to prevent themselves from these deadly mosquito-borne diseases. Blood test is a must if someone has fever. It will be done for free in government hospitals.
Plastic ban
Regarding the plastic ban she said that even after banning of plastic carry bags some of the shop keepers are using it. Strict action will be taken against such shop owners and heavy penalty will be slammed on them. On repeated cases, trade license of the violators will be cancelled.
