Mangalore:The first Rashtrakavi memorial award will be conferred to famous epigraphist Dr. Shrinivas H Ritti on 6th September 2013 at Nuthana Ravindra mantapa of MGM college,Udupi.
Addressing the media in the press meet held in the Hotel Ocean pearl today, the Director of Rashtrakavi Govind Pai research center, Prof.H Krishna Bhat said that The Govinda Pai memorial award has been started to encourage the scholars who have been exceptional in literature and research.
This time the first award will be given to famous epigraphist Dr. Shreenivas H Ritti.
Dr. Jatti hails from Dharwad and has the history of publishing various research papers on epigraphy in the journals like Epigraphica India, Epigraphica Karnataka etc. He has been taking great interest in studying the epigraphs for decades.
President of Konkani language and cultural Foundation Basti Vaman Shenoy, Prof. Murulidhar Upadhyaya, Dr.Paduka krishna Bhat and others were present at the press meet.
