Mangaluru: To come out on tops in Karnataka in a PUC board exam, is anachievement par excellence, and a moment of pride not only for the achiever, but for her parents and the city. That’s what Rashmitha, a student of Sharada Vidyalaya College has done as she emerged as the first rank holder in Karnataka in the II PUC examination in commerce stream. In these days of intensive coaching and tuitions, she had none and yet she notched up an impressive 595 out of the total 600 marks, bagging 98.93 per cent.

She has scored cent per cent marks in all the core subjects namely Basic Math, Accountancy, Statistics and Business Studies and 99 and 94 in Sanskrit and English respectively.
Rashmitha is the daughter of B Purushottham, a resident of Bejai-Kapikad and owner of Naveen Engineering Workshop, Car Street and Shashikala P, a housewife. Her older sister is pursuing her engineering degree.
She has already enrolled herself for an integrated course of B.Com and Chartered Accountancy at MAPS College here.
Enamored with the student’s achievement, former principal of the College who is currently rendering service as an Advisor Dr. Leela Upadhyaya said that history has been created as Rashmitha has turned out to be the first student of Sharada Vidyalaya to bag the first place in the state level board exam.
