Ramesh Bayari granted bail in RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga murder case

Mangaluru: The prime accused in the kidnap and murder case of Congressman and RTI activist Vasudeva Adiga was granted conditional bail on Thursday, April 9.Seven other accused in the case namely Subramanya Udupa, Umesh, Naveen, Mohan Kumar, K S Raghavendra, Ravichandra and Vijayasarathi were released on bail earlier.

Ramesh Bayari, the prime accused, had applied for bail thrice but it got rejected. He had appealed for bail in Udupi District and Sessions Court, Karnataka High Court and even the Supreme Court. However, all three courts turned down his appeals. Bayari was again was given the opportunity to submit a fresh bail plea after the questioning of the main witnesses in the case. Accordingly his lawyers applied for bail.

Vasudeva Adiga was kidnapped on January 7, 2013 and his body was found five days later at Kadur in Chikkamagaluru.
