Ramanath Rai releases book on three years of Cong govt

Mangaluru: As the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government completed three years, the Dakshina Kannada district administration released a book ‘Sadhaneya Mooru Varushagalu’ here on Tuesday, May 24 at the DC’s office.

The meeting was presided over by the Minister for forest and district-in-charge minister B Ramanath Rai. MLAs J R Lobo and Moideen Bava were present.

Speaking on the occasion Ramanath Rai said that In the district 4,21,682 families have ration cards. A total of 25460 are Anthyodaya, 190563 are BPL and 205659 are APL. Over 14026 new BPL cards and 6665 APL cards have been distributed in DK.

Under Anna Bhagya scheme, 696.809 metric tonnes of rice and 143.411 metric tonnes of wheat to Anthyodaya card holders, 3151.903 metric tonnes of rice and 777.914 metric tonnes of wheat to BPL card holders have been distributed, he added.

Achievements of state government

Under Ksheerabhagya scheme over 108825 students of government schools and 69752 aided school students have been provided milk. As many as 114069 children from 2012 Anganwadis are provided Ksheerabhagya milk.

As many as 4820 girl students have been provided Rs 22.53 lacs of stipends to increase attendance of girls in schools, while Rs 3.59 crores have been released to pay the repayment of fee of 1802 students who got admission under RTI.

To encourage dairy farmers, the government has launched a new scheme of providing stipend of Rs 4 per liter. Under this scheme 32343 dairy farmers have been provided 2071.09 lacs in the district.

Under Balasanjeevini scheme as many as 178 children have availed free treatment.

In Wenlock district hospital, a new Ayush hospital consisting of 50 beds has been approved and out-patient check-up facility will be started at the earliest.

For the year 2015-16 884.9 quintals of seed and 3142 tonnes has been distributed through subsidy in the district.

Under drinking water project Rs 5.60 crore to rural areas; Rs 3.40 crore to urgan areas, Rs 98 lacs to revenue department has been released. Total 1052 drinking water projects have been undertaken.

Under natural disaster relief fund, till March 31, Rs 295.43 lacs have been utilised.

Monthly pension to 107052 beneficiaries have been provided under social security scheme (elderly, widows, handicapped and transgenders).

Through Revenue Adalath, 369 adalats have been undertaken in the district and have received 31951 applications and 31285 applications cleared.

Under Housing scheme of 94 C (Sakrameekarana), 7486 cases have been sanctioned.

Under Loan waiver scheme, 30.49 crore loans of SC/ST, backward class and minorities has been waived.

Under Vidyasiri scheme, Rs 340.45 lacs to 5359 students belonging to backward class and Rs 456.84 lac aid to 7614 minority students have been released.

Under Bidayi scheme 936 beneficiaries have been provided 468 lacs.

Nutrition food worth Rs 4.02 crore to Koraga and Malekudiya community has been supplied. The government has also signed agreement with high-tech hospitals for free health checkup of these communities.

Three 33/11 kv sub-stations in Puttur, Kakkinje and Subramanya has been established and work of other sub-stations in Kalladka, Venur, Kavu is underway.

Three power sub-stations in Vogga, Kukkipady, Nelyady and Attavara have been upgraded  and Sullia, Savanoor, Kadri and Alake sub-stations will be upgraded at the earliest.

In the district total 7 multi-village drinking water projects are underway.

Under Namma Grama Namma Rasthe, 77.38km road is completed in the third phase and total 392.18 km road work is completed.

In MCC, 169 works have been undertaken in the third phase under 100 crore project.

Under Mathsyashraya scheme 67.68 lacs subsidy has been provided to 146 beneficiries.

Title deeds to 121 beneficiaries belonging to SC community under Forest Act has been distributed.

A report has been submitted to drop 86080.68 acres of land from Deemed forest list.

In Bengre, Sasyodhyana at the cost of 1.95 cr, Shree Gandha protected area in Veerakambha at the cost of 70.50 lacs and Dehi Baidathi medicinal forest has been developed at the cost of 58 lacs.

Rs 413 lacs have been spent under Naxal affected region development project.

A total of 2995 endosulfan victims have been given monthly pensions.

DC office at Padil has been approved at the cost of Rs 41 crores and CM has laid foundation.

International Swimming pool will be coming up in Mangaluru at the cost of Rs 4.99 cr.

Works are underway to develop Balavan of Karanth in Puttur at the cost of Rs 1 crore.

Mini vidhana Soudha work at Belthangady taluk at the cost of 5 cr is underway and Bantwal mini vidhana soudha is underway.

Desalination of sea water project at the cost of Rs 100 crores is now proposed by DC.

Oceanarium in Pilikula at the cost of 15 cr is underway were some of the highlights put up by the Congress government under its achievement list.
