Ramanath Rai flags off Anna Bhagya Scheme

Mangalore: D.K District in-charge Minister Ramanath Rai  inaugurated  “Anna Bhagya” scheme at Town hall today at 11 am by symbolically distributing  30kg of rice to a family.

 

While addressing the gathering, he said  that  as promised in the  election manifesto to distribute rice at the rate of Rs 1 per kilogram to BPL families this scheme is introduced . This is a  unique project in the entire country. Thirty Kg of rice will be given to one family, per month.He also assured that it will been seen that this scheme  reaches the BPL families only.This scheme introduced  by the government kicked off today everywhere in the state.

In D.K district  the total no of beneficiaries  are 1,79,139 families and 7,000 metric tonnes of rice will be distributed per month. Total expense will be Rs 4,000 Cr.The state govt.which gets rice at Rs 26 per kg is distributing it to the poor at Re 1 per kg, he said.

MLAs J.R.Lobo , Mohidin Bawa , DC N.Prakash,Zilla panchayat CEO Dr. Vijay Prakash,Sharana  Basappa,  Deputy Director of Department of Food and Civil Supplies  were also present at the event.
