Mysore : Activists of the Karnataka Rakshana Vedike smeared black on the face of CFTRI Director Ramarajashekharan on January 9, Thursday accusing him of pursuing anti-Kannada policy.

The activists who intercepted Ramarajashekharan who had arrived for the inaugural of a seminar at Rani Bahaddur Auditorium of Manasagangotri, right at the main gate and then expressed their anguish by smearing his face black.
Sources said no sooner the officer stepped out of his car, around 20 Vedike activists held him by his collar and resorted to the act. Even the faces of CFTRI officer Dr Bhasker, Ravishanker, lecturer and programme convenor Prof. BS Vishwanath were smeared black by the activists.
The agitators alleged that the CFTRI director was not allowing Rajyotsava and other Kannada related programme at the CFTRI auditorium though it was vacant. Police have arrested one person in connection with the incident.
Meanwhile, CFTRI Director Rajashekharan who convened a press meet later defended himself and clarified that he was not anti-Kannada. He also stated that he had rejected a foreign job offer with the sole intention of serving in Karnataka.
