Kasargod: Stale food items were seized from hotels in the city during a raid conducted by the Health Department on friday. This food was even being served to the customers.

Rotten food items from six hotels raided by the officials have been seized. The officials also reported unhygienic conditions at the hotels.

Hotels at New bus stand, old bus stand, market road and hotels in Karandkkad were raided by the officials. Health officer M Rajan and team carried out the raid and have issued notices as a warning.

Stringent action would be taken against the hotels, which served rotten food, the health officer said.
